THE STORY BEHIND CROOKIE

It all started with a love for baking.

Crookie grew from a passion for creating, experimenting and turning simple ideas into something worth sharing. What started as a love for baking slowly became a brand, a creative space and a journey that’s still unfolding. What began with small batches and endless recipe testing soon grew into a space where creativity and baking came together. Every recipe, experiment, and little win became part of the journey. Crookie is not just about sharing recipes; it’s about making baking feel exciting, approachable, and a little more magical for everyone. From discovering new flavours to perfecting the tiniest details, every bake is a chance to create something special. And this is only the beginning — there’s so much more to bake, create, and share.

From a love for baking to something of our own.

A few things baking has taught me.

Baking has a funny way of teaching you things you don’t expect. You start with a recipe thinking you’re just making a cake or a batch of cookies, and somewhere between measuring ingredients, waiting for the oven and wondering why your dough suddenly looks nothing like it should, you end up learning a little more than just baking.

01 — The first try is rarely the final try.

Some recipes take multiple attempts before they become what you imagined. You change an ingredient, adjust a measurement, try a different temperature and sometimes end up starting completely over. It can be frustrating, but every attempt gets you a little closer and teaches you something the recipe alone never could.

02 — The little things really matter.

Baking has made me pay attention to details I probably wouldn’t have noticed before. The temperature of your ingredients, how you mix something, when you take it out of the oven or even how long you let it cool can completely change the final result. Sometimes, the difference between a good bake and a great one is surprisingly small.

03 — Experimenting is where the fun begins.

Some of the most exciting ideas come from simply wondering, “What if I try this?” Not every experiment works, obviously some are genuinely questionable but that’s also how new flavours, textures and combinations are discovered. Baking doesn’t always have to mean following the rules perfectly.

04 — Mistakes are part of making something.

There will be overbaked cookies, cakes that don’t rise, frosting that refuses to cooperate and recipes that just don’t work. And that’s okay. Every failed bake becomes a little more knowledge for the next one. Somewhere along the way, I learned that getting it wrong isn’t the opposite of getting better it’s usually how you get there.

And this is only the beginning.

Crookie started with a love for baking, a little too much curiosity, and countless hours spent testing, tweaking, and sometimes completely messing up recipes. What began as a simple love for creating something from scratch has slowly grown into a space where I can share the recipes, ideas, and little baking lessons I’ve picked up along the way. There’s still so much left to bake, create, learn, and share — and I can’t wait to take you along for all of it.
